About The Tour
Membership to the Keystone's Premier Golf Association/Golf
Channel Amateur Tour is open to golfers of all skill levels.
Players are divided amongst six flights based on an initial
VERIFIABLE handicap such as a USGA index. If you do not have
an index, we can help you establish a valid handicap.
Our goal is to provide you, an amateur player the opportunity
to compete on a golf tour just like the pros. With 6 different
flights it doesn't matter if you are a scratch player or a
20 handicap, this is the place for you!
Flights
Palmer Flight - Open (Scratch to 3.9)
Nicklaus Flight - (4.0 to 7.9)
Hogan Flight - (8.0 to 11.9)
Sarazen Flight - (12.0 to 15.9)
Jones Flight - (16.0 to 19.9)
Snead Flight - (20.0 and Above)
Tournaments
All Keystone's Premier Golf Association/Golf Channel Amateur
Tour events are generally stroke play events conforming to
USGA rules. The tour schedule consists of both one-day and
two-day events, along with the season ending National Championship
and the Sir Elford Cup (54-hole team event).
Tournament fees vary based on the type of event and host
course. Top finishers in each flight, per event, receive non-cash
prizes. Prizes and awards will vary from event to event based
upon player participation, as a percentage of each entry fee
is put into a prize pool and then distributed amongst the
flights.
Each event will also have an optional skins match. Players
enter this match with a nominal entry fee payable the day
of the event. In order to conform with USGA rules for amateur
status, no single or cumulative prize value will exceed $750.00.
The Golf Channel Amateur Tour is a great opportunity to meet
other people with a passion for the game of golf and to have
fun competing in an organized format.
Membership does NOT guarantee a place in each event. Some
events have limited availability and will sell out. Make sure
to register early as each event becomes available.
