GolfNet ID Number

Your GolfNet handicap ID Number is simply a combination of your home club ID and the golfer number that you enter when you enter scores at the handicap posting station. This number is also your IGN number. This number is used when you post scores away from your home club. Your IGN number ensures that your scores will be routed back to your home club.

IGN
What Is The IGN?

The IGN is a non-profit corporation which is operated by the participating golf associations for the sole purpose of providing their members with the ability to post anywhere they play. With IGN, players can post scores at other clubs within their state or outside of their state association and have these scores routed back to their home club. The IGN also provides the ability for score files to be linked of individuals who are members of more than one participating IGN association.

How to Post...

If the club has a computer, press '4' - IGN Guest Score Posting on the Main Menu:

  1. Select the Keystone Premier Golf Association from the list.
  2. Enter your IGN Number (found on your monthly handicap label).
  3. Continue on through the screens to post your score.
  4. If you have not selected the KPGA to have your score routed to or have not entered your membership number your score will not be routed properly.
  5. Your score will be routed to your home course if all steps have been completed.
  6. You may track your score progression through the Member Functions feature on the IGN website, www.ign.net.

Please Note: The steps to post a score may vary slightly with each association.

IGN FAQ
What is the International Golf Network?

The IGN was developed by the International Association of Golf Administrators to facilitate the transfer of posted scores between associations, which use different handicap vendors. It provides associations and their handicap vendor's access through the internet to share scores between the participating associations. Through this system, KPGA members will have the ability to post scores. The network also provides the ability for individual golfers who are members of more than one IGN association to have their score files linked. This enables the golfer to maintain a more accurate Handicap Index at the associations where they are a member. The IGN is the first international network of its kind, with 48 participating associations at this time.

Is my association participating?

Yes, the KPGA is currently a member of the IGN. Currently there are 48 associations across North America and abroad that are participating. Following is a list of current participating associations. For the most recent listing please visit the IGN website, www.ign.net.

How do I post a score when traveling outside of KPGA?

First, you must be playing golf within an IGN participating association's region (see listing on IGN website, www.ign.net). Next, look for the posting computer in the golf shop or locker room. On the front posting screen should be the IGN symbol or lettering. You will want to make that selection for the IGN. In some order you will be asked to enter your association membership number, the date you played, the course and slope ratings, your score and finally what association you want this score routed back to. The order of these steps may vary slightly with each association. Please be sure that you have selected the KPGA as the association to have your score routed to.

Sources may NOT be posted directly on the IGN website.

Can I find out if my score was posted correctly?

Yes, you may track any scores posted through the IGN on the IGN website, www.ign.net. On the home page of the website is the feature Member Functions. The individual should make that selection and then enter their IGN membership number, the month they would like to view scores for, the year and the association they belong to (KPGA). The results will show any scores posted by the individual, the date played, course name, corresponding ratings and scores as well as the vendor who sent the score.

The handicap vendors are required to send scores at least once a week to the IGN. Depending upon when you post a score and when the vendor sends scores there may be a slight delay until you will see the score on the IGN website Scores should show on the IGN website no longer than 14 days after being posted.

How will my club get the IGN software?

Golfnet, the KPGA's handicap vendor, includes the IGN feature as part of its software package. Updates to the IGN software will be included with Golfnet update disks, which are sent to the member clubs.

What features are available on the IGN website for individuals to use?
On the home page of the IGN site, there is an option for Member Functions. Individuals who have posted a score outside of their home region through the IGN system can go into this section and track the score. The individual will put in their IGN number then select the Keyston Premier Golf Association as the member association and the month they want to track. Results will show any scores that were posted through the IGN that month, what handicap vendor sent the scores, and at what golf course the scores were posted.
