2008 Junior Qualifer Schedule Posted on Qualifier Dates Page
The KPGA Junior Program has had phenomenal growth in the past
few years. Qualifiers are held
throughout the state leading up to the yearly P.J. Boatwright state
championship in August. In providing these opportunities, the KPGA
stresses the rules and a statewide "Code
of Conduct" in order to raise the level of awareness of the
Juniors regarding the importance of behavior, etiquette and it's
effect on everyday life.
The program has benefited from the willing cooperation of public courses and the hard work of our Junior Tournament Directors.
*Created and adhered to by the KPGA, the Tri-State Section of the PGA, the Philadelphia Section of the PGA and Western Pennsylvania Golf Association.
The KPGA Junior Mission Statement
The mission of the KPGA Junior Golf Qualifier Series is to provide golfing opportunities for boys and girls (ages 12-20) who enjoy the game. We are dedicated to the junior golfer by providing a competitive environment which helps build character and good sportsmanship.
8th Annual Bi-State Junior Golf Challenge
The Bi-State Junior Tournament between Ohio and Pennsylvania will
be held at Grove City Country Club, Grove City, PA on Monday, August 4 and Tuesday, August 5, 2008. Contact your tournament director
or the KPGA office for more information. This is an invitation only
event. Check out our Bi-State homepage!
North Hills Junior Golf Academy
The North Hills Junior Golf Academy for 2008 will begin this Spring
with both beginner, intermediate and advance programs. This is the
8th year that the programs run and they have had much success and
satisfaction in graduating hundreds of well-mannered, educated junior
golfers into the golf community. They are a small but growing, family-run
academy that is dedicated to teaching your juniors about all aspects
of the game of golf. They teach not only the fundamentals and physical
aspects of the game, but we also stress rules and etiquette, so
that the graduates will be welcomed and respected on any golf course
they play. The classes will be held at North Park Golf Course. Please
call Linda Bergman or Amy Gomez at 412/367-1274 for more information.
The KPGA feels this is an excellent program for our Juniors to participate
in.
